Ministries
Riverside Church exercises a number of ministries, both spiritual and social, on a regular basis, as well as some occasional or one-off activities. Some of our ministries are aimed at building up members of the fellowship for further service. Other activities are aimed at reaching members of the wider community - either in simple service borne of love or evangelistically, sharing with them the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Fellowship Groups
We know the value of Christians gathering in small groups for fellowship, prayer, worship and Bible study. Several who used to be part of our church and have gone on to full-time ministry in the Church testify that meeting in a small group was foundational to their spiritual growth and in recognising their call. Because of this, one of the key values that we hold as a church is to encourage all members to become part of a home group where people will be committed to one another in prayer, support and time, and which will be open to include and serve those currently outside the Church.
Youth
We support and host both a Girls Brigade and a Boys Brigade Company. These organisations meet during term time and offer a Christian based, age appropriate, evening of fun and adventure.
We run a Junior church that starts the service with the main congregation before leaving to run their own activities with a dedicated team of leaders. On the first Sunday of the month, we run an all-age cafe style service, where everyone worships together and there are also activities which young people can do on each table. We also also run family-holiday clubs a few times a year.
The Source Café
Offering rest, refreshment and resources in the heart of Sleaford - Riverside Church have been operating The Source Multi Use Centre for many years following the completion of an extension to our buildings.
Social Meetings
At Riverside, we know it is important to have fun! To this end, we have a number of social activities each week. The type and frequency vary depending on demand. These groups are always open to new people, both within the church fellowship and those who are not regular worshipers at Riverside - the more the merrier
