Social Meetings
At Riverside, we know it is important to have fun! To this end, we have a number of social activities each week. The type and frequency vary depending on demand. These groups are always open to new people, both within the church fellowship and those who are not regular worshipers at Riverside - the more the merrier
Model Railways
We host a model railway interest group that meets on a Saturday morning. Originally started as 'all things modelled' it is predominantly railway focused. So whether your interest in models is railway, aircraft, boats, or anything else, feel free to drop in and have a chat with us.
Short mat bowls
We have an active short mat bowls group. It began in August 2002, when Ruskington Bowls club kindly donated a mat to us. Short mat bowls uses the same bowl as outdoor, but is played indoors on a short mat. A 'block' is placed in the centre of the mat ensuring that bowls are 'curved' into the jack creating a challenging game.
The group meet on Tuesdays evenings in our hall, at 7:15pm. When there are sufficient people, we can play on two mats.
The standard of play ranges from absolute beginners to those with much more experience, and friendly, supportive coaching is given to those who are newer to the game.
If you are interested in coming along and trying your hand (and arm and eye!), you will be welcomed.
